For Pleasure

Pedigree:

For Pleasure finished his career with staggering lifetime earnings of Euro 1.8 million. For Pleasure has contributed to four championship victories over the last eight years of his career with the German Showjumping team, and four times has won team gold. At the 1996 Games with Lars Nieberg, at the 2000 Games with Marcus Ehning and at two European Championships - Hickstead and Donaueschingen. At Donaueschingen, he carried Marcus Ehning to his first individual medal - a bronze. With both riders, he won 75 S-level classes, winning his last Grand Prix at the age of eighteen - at the Liepzig round of the World Cup, where he won the class over a massive course ("the highest track I have ever jumped with him indoors" said rider, Marcus Ehning) to beat Frenchman, Jean Marc Nicolas and Modesto. In For Pleasure's stallion test he starred in the jumping where he had the top mark of 145.95. He is sire of many sires and has very successful offspring.

For Plays Dam Line is the famous Accord II, 100 Day Test champion, and contains no close Cor de la Bryere or Landgraf blood. He received a "9" on type and "8's" on both front and hind legs; a score seldom seen. He also scored 9.5 to 10 for showjumping, and 9 to 9.67 for rideability. His overall score was 146.04 scoring 138.26 in dressage and 148.47 in jumping. Acord II has produced more than 40 stallion sons, one of the more famous is Broere VDL Atlantic, who was the Six Year Old Jumping Champion at the 1999 Bundeschampionate with Ulrich Kirchhoff. As of 2003, Acord II produced 60 dressage competitors and 404 jumpers (52 to advanced level) for winnings of 736,475 euros. Acord II’s entry in the Hanoverian Studbook includes the comment: "His first foals are impressive with a strong, correct conformation and above average floating movements." Accord II is widely regarded as an important contributor in Europe. He was the leading sire for mares bred in Germany after winning many important shows.

The Dam's Dam Line is by legendary Grand Prix Dressage Stallion Grundstein, who was imported to the US in 1985 after siring 13 fully approved breeding stallions in Germany. He has been the leading sire in the FN rankings among stallions in the top 10% of their age group in both jumping and dressage since 1988. In 1995 Grundstein's dressage index was 178 and his jumping index was 142.

Performance Summary:

For Play has tremendous ability as a performance horse and as a sire of performance horses. One breeding judge who knows For Pleasure very well mentioned that Both For Pleasure and For play were bred by the same breeder and also mentioned that not only does For Play have the Ability of his father but is an improvement of his father through the quality of movement and modern type. They also believe that his damline of Accord II improved For Pleasures Shoulder use over fences. For Play has had 100% conception rate on all first breedings to his US mares in 2008 from cooled and frozen semen including mares in their 20's. For Play's bloodlines and young performance record are enticing other stallion owners to include him in their breeding program.

As a young horse in Germany he earned the privilege of qualifying for the Bundeschampionat. For Play had many wins as a young horse with the most recent at 1.40 meters timed as a 5 year old. 2007 was spent breeding back at his home farm outside of Hanover before we were given the opportunity to bring him to the US. His success is also blooming in Dressage with scores in the mid 70's in USDF.

For Play was imported at the end of 2007 and we expect him to join the national Grand Prix levels and USDF upper level dressage. Prior to being imported For Play was selected and won his 30 day stallion test in Germany. He won by such a margin that he was exempted from the conclusion of the 70 day test so he could stand at the Celle State stud and participate in the jumper breeding program.

For Play as a 5 y/o

As a young horse in Germany he earned the privilege of qualifying for the Bundeschampionat. He was awarded very high scores in his ability in his young horse jumping competitions.  For Play had many wins as a young horse with the most recent at 1.40 meters timed as a 5 year old. 2007 was spent breeding back at his home farm outside of Hanover before we were given the opportunity to bring him to the US.

Progeny Summary:

For Play is a sire of sires and has produced several outstanding foals in Germany and we are expecting his first foal crop in the US Spring 09'. Out of his first foal crop in Germany he produced a licensed German Hanoverian stallion that stands and remains in Germany. He gives his foals his very typey head, jumping ability and scope as well as his lofty, suspended powerful dressage type gate. He has produced all colors including black out of a bay mare. I have seen a variety of his foals that move and jump like top hunters, jumpers and dressage horses. His temperament is a very important characteristic that will create top level amateur horses as well as very easy to ride professional winning mounts.

For Play's 2 year old daughters who will hopefully be joining us in the US soon
