Trainer
photo by Erpelding Dacia Peters Dacia Peters has recently relocated back to her roots of Southern California. She is very excited for her new opportunities and success with Mattango farm owner and friend Angela Pike. The services offered at Mattango farms are presented with a very optimistic & positive approach with the horse and rider's safety and best interest at the forefront. "I get to know the horses on an individual level and work with them accordingly," said Dacia. Working with horses is her passion. She specializes in Imports, Sales, Breeding, Training, & Showing. Her "building a rider" technique takes a horse with a steady foundation and teaches its rider the best ways to communicate and build a partnership. "I teach the way I would like to learn, I want valuable information conveyed in a positive way. As a riding instructor, I spend a lot of time complimenting the good things before correcting the things that need improvement to build the rider. As a trainer, I have a daily goal and a career goal for each horse & Rider. I always set the horse & rider up to win and not fail by challenging them just enough mentally and physically that they can handle it and rise to the occasion. This makes the horses trust grow in the rider and the rider grow trust in themselves. The horse's work ethic get stronger because they ENJOY what they do and riders find their new confidence transcend into the rest of their lives"

Dacia's goal at Mattango is to have a team of winning riders with top horses who ride and show together with a camaraderie, passion, and most of all friendship that with not only each other but with their horses. She competed intercollegiate equitation on a national level as she worked on her Bachelors of Science degree at Saint Mary of the Woods College, IN.
